resetting my ECU

Am about to install a cold air intake system on my 2000 C-5. After it's installed I was told I just need to remove the negative cable from the battery (for about 2 hours) and then hook it back up so the ECU can check and adjust for the new system. Does that sound right? Just don't want to have any issues.

Just drive it. The ECU is constantly (and fairly quickly) adjusting the fuel trim. It doesn't need the battery disconnected to "reset".

Just wanted to let you know I installed the system this morning and took it out for a test drive. It runs great and even the idle has improved. The idle had been kind of low for awhile but now is steady and I think I am getting a little extra horse power now as well. Thanks again for your help.
