Help, C5 is dead, is it my battery???
I just put a new Optima Red-Top battery in the C5 about 2 months ago. I've been out of town and the car hasn't been started in 2 weeks.
It's now dead as a doornail, won't even try to turn over.
I tried to jump it off my other car, but still nothing, so I'm thinking that it might not be the battery. I checked all the fuses and they are all tight.
Any ideas of what else could be loose?
Also, is there any way to find out if the battery itself has any juice? I don't have a voltmeter of any type.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks to all in advance.

Try this:
attach the jumper cables, and let it "charge" for 15-20 min. then try cranking her up. This happened to me a couple of months ago and letting it sit there while the other car was running/charging it worked for me.

Batteries probably dead and needs a full charge. Unless you get a full charge with a battery charger you'll still have problems(Alternator can't fully charge a dead battery). Letting your car sit that long can drain the battery unless you disconnect it.

OK, I am a total MORON. I took O-Ace's advice (that's not what makes me a moron) and hooked up the cables and let the good car run, for about 10 minutes. I figured the underhood light would come on, a least a little.
I checked the jumper cables and the handles of the good car end were getting warm, but the handles on the bad car were not warm at all.
I figured that I would try another negative point on the bad car, and moved the negative from the air intake to the alternator and whadda-ya-know, I didn't have a ground before so no charging. DUH.
She started right up!
Thanks everyone for your help.
