Need help! car has been in the body shop just to get painted, been in for about a month and a half. I have been going almost everyday to check on it and offer help. Turned on about twice a day just to move it, sat maybe the first couple weeks. Last week, it stopped starting. before turning into the body shop, car only stumbled for a second before starting, just for the first start of the day. after the couple weeks at the shop, it had some rough starts that took longer. and last week, stopped running altogether. when key is turned, the motor tries to start, maybe a piston or 2 fires, but doesnt start. battery is not the issue, tried hooking up brand new battery. fuel pump works, still noisy. fuel pressure is good, though not verified by gauge. grounds were checked. spark plugs were changed, white at the spark points. after spark plugs were changed, car started enough to go around the block, then stopped working again. (seemed to be not getting enough fuel to keep running). mechanics say the car has a "weak spark."
also car gives no codes, DIC or otherwise (already hooked up to very good and expensive codereader.)
Any help to try and get the car started would be appreciated. Thank you.
Very unusual for there to be no codes at all. I would check the battery again with a dvm and make sure you have proper voltage to run the car.
We have a fresh battery though and a charger to support it, trying to start the car. pretty sure the proper voltage is going through. When the car got running after the spark plugs, it was the proper voltage.
hmm, maybe im missing something that you guys will understand. I had written down codes from the DIC sometime during the process, I believe before the spark plugs were replaced, and rest them. None of the codes have showed up again, but here they are.

"Can you hear the fuel pump priming? Mine would crank but not start. The problem was a bad relay for the fuel pump. You can swap your horn relay for the fuel pump and try it before you buy a new relay for $22.00"

"pretty sure" Doesn't get it when your doing diagnostics. Check it with a dvm and be sure. A load test wouldn't be a bad idea. Some of those codes could point to a bad battery or connection. At least one thing would be ruled out and it's free.
