Can anyone give any pointers on the full up process on these cars? I am guessing it all gets filled through the tank that is up on the passenger side fender well? how do you go about it without getting a ton of air in the system? Seems like opening it up to replace the rad would introduce lots of air into the cooling system.???
I believe there is a procedure in the service manual. I thought there was a write up by another forum member that provided the procedure. Something about filling it to a certain point and then running the engine for a few minutes and then filling again, etc.

based on your screen name i'm feeling honda.
these cars aren't much different. you fill with coolant, start the engine, add more, put the cap on, let the thermostat open, shut car down, top off coolant after the car has sat an hour. drive car, check coolant level again after 4 hours and add one last time if necessary
make sure to find the fill line on the tank, don't just dump it in till it won't take anymore
there may be a factory way of doing this but the above procedure is effective in getting a proper coolant fill
the radiator is an ECP. There are a few threads about them.
As for Honda, not its been years and years since I owned one. I had one when I was maybe 18. The name just stuck with me for forums ever since. The last car actually was a 94 Toyota Supra...Fully built motor with a 67mm turbo.
even if it's a mishimoto china mad rad no one else on the planet sells that kind of cooling capacity for $250
first i have heard of them
i don't see why the above procedure wouldn't work though. it's just burping the system. that radiator should function just like stock, just with more capacity
Let us know how it cools compared to prior radiator. I bought a Champion one just like that for my Cutlass and it does an awesome job at cooling. I would buy one of there's if they made one for the C5's.
Thanks!
Chris
ill let you guys know. From what others have said, they have seen around 15 degrees cooler. I figured for the price i was gonna pay to go back to a stock one with plastic end tanks, i could pay just a small fee more and get a solid aluminum one without the price of some of the other ones.
I almost wanna do a cam and whatnot too since this is out of the car for now...but I dont think the wife would be very happy since we have a baby on the way.
well since I am not sure when ill have the funds to do a cam and yada yada, I went ahead and decided to install the radiator. I think taking it out the 2nd time around will be much faster now that I am familiar with it. Putting it in was just as easy. No fitment issues with this radiator so far. All I gotta do now is fill it up and put my intake assembly back on.
