The only hassle is the routing. You really need the ability to get the car up in the air for better access.
Btw, if you buy new, the positive cable is black, not red. It will have a removable red insulator sleeve at the battery end, but the cable itself is all black. The all red OEM cable is NA. Also, the cables are sold separately by GM, not as a complete assembly.
I don't recall your year, but remember, the late '03s (IIRC) and all '04s have top post cables.
I think you best best is getting hold of Marc at Vettenuts and getting a good clean set from him or on Ebay. If you really want the best of the best, have a new pair made up to match your length and terminals ends. One black, one red.
