Default Looking for some electrical connector guidance

I have a 2003 Coupe A4. I have decided to convert it to a M12. I have the complete set of the Helms 2003 service manuals. I can read schematics. I have read a few build threads on the Corvette Forum (and Digital Corvettes) that the trans harnesses are interchangeable form 2001 - 2004. Is that correct?

I purchased a "2002 Z06 manual transmission" harness from EBay. For reference: One end of the harness connects under the battery tray (4-connectors).

Connector C142 (Trans to Engine harness) matches my service manual pinout with the exception of; Pin E Vehicle Speed Sensor is pluggged and not connected. I would assume it should be connected.

Other differences I found were C140, 146, and 148 are all 12 pin connectors on the purchased harness but, they are 14 pin, 10 pin, and 10 pin respectively in the service manual.

I haven't started my trans swap yet. So I don't know if the harness I bought is correct, or if the service manual is.

Finally, my questions are: (sorry for the short novel).
Are these harness interchangeable within the years 2001 - 2004?

Can someone with a 2002 Service Manual please check the connectors/pinout to check how many pins connectors C140, C146, and C148? (Volume 3/3 - Body and Accessories: Wiring Systems).

I would appreciate any advice you have. Thank you.

Patches,

Thank you very much for your help! It seems at least the connectors in the two different year Service Manuals match. It seems I may have received a mis-marked harness. I'll try to return the "presumed 2002" harness.

I just purchased another harness 2003 manual trans harness w/ F55 from Ebay. This one matches my year and MSR feature. I hope the new one corollates with the pinouts better.

Thanks again.

I seem to recall you did a trans swap? Did it go smooth?

Glad it helped. I did have a buddy do the A4-->M12 swap several years ago. He was one of the first to try it so there was practically no info available about how to go about it. It took him a while to figure out the parts and reprogramming necessary to pull it off.

I did a 2.73-->3.42 diff swap with a high-stall converter along with a headers and a couple of other accessories a few years ago on our '02 A4 coupe and posted the project here. Went great.

Best of luck on your swap.
