Repair this Shorty?
This just in... Blast from the Past!!!
I just picked up a slightly modded 2000 coupe with shorties on it. The passenger side forward AIR pipe weld to the runner tube has a crack in it, and I'm trying to identify the manufacturer. This quoted pic (from http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1573639209-post14.html) looks close, but maybe not.
Does anyone know where this JBA (?) shorty can be bought?
Is the exhaust flange located in the same position as the stock manifold? If so, any manifold with the stock dimensions would bolt in. The car has a crossover installed with cats, so I'm hoping the flange connections would have retained the stock locations.
I'm going to try a weld repair and hope it works so I don't have to go down that path any more than necessary.
Any feedback or suggestions are welcome!

That should be an easy repair with a wire feed. I would remove it though, clean the area well with a wire brush. Even though it might be stainless, steel wire works fine.
If you want to get ambitious, sand blast both and paint with VHT or other good header paint. They will look good!
I would think being a shorty, it bolts to the pipes just like a stock manifold.
Looks like the under hood could use a good cleaning if you are into doing that.
