Ignition switch did not solve
I was dumbfounded. Every ground plug, module plug, under seat plug and serial bus has been cleaned and checked for tang alignment. None showed any corrosion whatsoever, as this car has always been in climate control and shows no rust anywhere at 18,000 easy miles. Ignition switch is new. The car was checked and the IPC replaced by a dealer at 13K miles, battery is new and kept on tender and is always at full charge. Car starts and runs perfectly. All codes seem to be U1096 com codes. No vehicle performance issue codes.
Thinking back, it was the 1st owner who had the IPC replaced. It must not have solved the problem, so he, like I am now, probably got frustrated and he traded it for a C6. I bought it and have wrestled with this problem, thinking now, obviously incorrectly, that the ignition switch solved it.
I called my good friend and neighbor who is SV Mgr. with Hendricks, and he thinks we should throw a new BCM at it. There is no evidence of any water intrusion anywhere in the footwell or BCM area, for that matter, anywhere on the car.Or, perhaps, leave it on the RR tracks.

I sure can't sell it like this, and would feel real guilty dumping it on a trade to a dealer like the first guy seemingly did. In fact, my ethics wouldn't let me do that, and am down to living with it (at least it runs, rides and drives like a new vehicle) or to finding and fixing the elusive problem. I really want to fix it properly and ASAP so I can sell it with a clear conscience.
Any advice anyone?
Bill?
PS: the original switch contacts showed some black discoloration, but no pitting. Some were near perfect.
Thanks,
Dave
