I just got this car.. its an m6 with every option. My question is what could I put on the car for starters? I used to have a head/cammed Camaro SS. BUt Im not sure what works well on these cars.

Oh, but you know not what you have fallen in to here. There are so many wonderful things to do to your vette, and you will most certainly get caught up in mod fever. Do a search on your topic, and you will find much from those that have gone before.

For starters, the two most popular mods are 1) Air Intake (blackwing, vortes, or other) and 2) Exhaust (Corsa, B&B, etc).

Welcome, and Enjoy!!!

Welcome to the world of the 99 Corvette. We bought ours last November and as you can see in my signature, it's really easy to have a lot of fun! :D It seems the only barrier for some is $$ and if that's not any problem then your in store for a great time! As you look and read more and more here on the CF, you'll find more help and ideas than you ever dreamed possible and there are some really smart people here too. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress.
Good Luck and

Ralph

Are you planning to take the car on road courses? Drag races? What will be your primary high performance activity?

Best bang for the buck for performance mods is a good intake (I like the Vortex), then new MAF ends, swap all the fluids with some good synethic (never know what the last owner did or didn't do).

I would do headers before a catback. Catback is cool for sound and looks but does very little for the money for HP. Headers will run a little more but get you lots more power.

Then do a cam, then catback later. Do what I did, buy a used B&B set for $350!

WELCOME

Just got my 98 about 2 months ago and have already gotten the mod fever (gotta learn to stay off this forum  ) My first major mod is the Borla Stingers, which have been on back-order for a couple of weeks...pretty popular. Also, stock up on Zaino to get her looking her best. As said, do a search and you should be able to find just about anything you need.

Great people here with lots of advice. For a laugh or two, go to Off Topic. Some pretty funny stuff there.
