Default C5 Emergency Brakes

If you need them fixed, call me. Piece of cake, just fixed my sons C5. Same system as a 99 Blazer

Mine have never worked, being a 6 speed, if I park in the driveway and want to leave the car running, the slight slope of the driveway usually makes the car roll back, so I had to shut it off and put it in 1st gear.

That was until I put on a garage door opener lol.

There was a write up how to adjust them, seems I read the factory did not adjust them to work, and when people bought new cars, dealerships were telling people the parking brake shoes were wore out!

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...djustment.html

In 2005 my windshield wiper motor module went bad, so I replaced it.

Not long after that, I had a Chevy Astro work van, and noticed the windshield wiper motor and module looked exactly the same.

Thanks for offering, I would love to if I was closer!

Was it just the shoes needing adjustment like the link I posted earlier?

Mine didn't work when I bought the car. I had the dealer fix it. Turned out it was infrequently used and had rusted to the point where it wouldn't work. They could either replace the ebrake shoes or rotors so I they opted for the rotors as the brake shoes were barely used. On the plus side it fixed my "warped" rotors and my ebrake issue.

Shoes need to be adjusted by spinning the star bolt to push the shoes outward. My son had a 99 Jimmy, shoes were rusted gone. Had to pull axles and replace brake shileds, shoes and hardware. when done it worked like new.

What is funny reading about the e brake not being used, I always set mine even though it does not really do anything, I guess it's doing it some good anyways lol!
