I have been having issues from the front lighting.. (turn signals and running lights) so luckily I read the sticky and the first thing I checked was the ground blocks.. turns out that its the junction block that built into the front harness.. It doesnt appear to attach to anything, its just part of the harness.. Im wonding if I could simply cut all the wires going into the block and attach them together since that what it looks like the block does?? Or do I need to buy a whole new harness??..
I can grab the block and with the parklights on I can jiggle the wires going into the block and the lights flicker.. I tried cleaning the connections inside and the problem has improved quite a bit but I know bumps in the road will still cause it to have issues..
Can that block simply be deleted and all the wires connected together that ran to it??
I highly doubt its relavant to my situation but for full disclosure the reason I am having to work on the lighting is because of a nitrous fire tha burnt up the fron clip.. Me and my friend rebuilt the harness from generic 16g wire.. In that process I knew I was getting an aftermarket hood to replace the stock one that burnt up so I simply cut off the wires going to the underhood light and capped them off.. Maybe the ground is getting somehow interupted there?? I highly doubt it but figured I would mention it
Did you try the electronic cleaner spray from the auto parts store? Is so, move up to battery terminal cleaner followed by the electronics spray. That should cure it. Do not remove the block. That's just asking for more troubles.
