I run it now. It's great. My oil pressure increased by 2-3 PSI at idle @ operating temperature. Their credentials are outstanding for their oil, also. Heck, I even became a dealer for it :D
Great stuff, Grumpy. Been using it for 20 years in different cars and it's always performed as advertised. In fact, I picked up the whole complement of fluids to switch my C5 over next oil change from a fellow forum member, tshac. :yesnod:
Yes....the way Amsoil does sell is gimmicky...and it is overpriced if you change the oil every 3,000mi.
Now if you leave your oil in according to the specs (1yr or 25k mi) THEN it becomes a bargain.
Been using it for years. GREAT stuff. And, NOT overpriced. Do your homework, and you'll see it's a bargain.
And you only start a flame if you throw out disrespectful comments with out backing it up with FACTS ..... (IMHO)...... :yesnod:
Gimicky? I guess you would feel better buying it from a kid at Walmart, Who was tossing burgers last week at the local BK telling ya "Just change your filter at 6 months, or 12500 miles & the oil at one year, or 25000 miles" :nono: :nono: I think not!
Most Amsoil dealers (The ones who sell it) have training, and alot of knowledge about the product. :yesnod:
Overpriced? Do the math :yesnod: even at retail it is cheaper, and at wholesale  Ya just can't beat it!
First & Best! :smash: :smash: :smash:
Check it, out you will see . :flag

I have tried it, and royal purple, too.
I build engines.
They are gimicky, overpriced oils. Period. They do not protect any better than other certified synthetics.
The only oil that I really think sucks is Pennzoil. I have torn down many a motor with "engine tar" from that stuff.
So much for pennzoil being the worst  Looks like it protects better than the Corvette factory fill oil. http://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g1266.pdf
Look at page 1, Bottom right side.
These are ASTM test numbers, NOT Amsoil's numbers. :D
As for the cost :smash: Looks like ya get what ya pay for :smash:

Test numbers mean nothing. I believe what I see in the engines I work with.
I'm not saying Amsoil is crap. I am saying it is overpriced, and gimmicky.

I would like to see some real world results where Amsoil has done a better job of protecting a Corvette... I think Mobil 1 already offers tremendous reserve margins... Unless somebody can show me where Mobil 1 has failed and Amsoil would of saved the day I'm sticking with Mobil 1 at $22.00 for 6 quarts at Sam's. I've been using it since 1978 and have never had an oil related failure.
  So you are one of those who don't believe it. :nopity
Mobil must believe it, because those same ASTM test results have been on the back of each bottle since 1995... :smash:
NO protest by Mobil yet
Run what ya want! Aint no big deal
