I found a great write up on here how to dissamble and fix a c6 fuse panel ...
But I have a c5 . Reason for fix is the relay for cooling fan 1 (relay 45)s pins got pushed down therefore the relay fits loosely. I removed the fuse panel from the car however I can't seem to seperate the seperate or boards.
It looks like the threaded tubes (where he screws go into) need to be cut or dremeled at the neck (sorta flanged) and this allows them to slide out freely thus seperating the panels.
I really need some guidance on this so any and all input would be greatly appreciated because the car is immobile until I take care of this.
I am also trying to get my hands on a used fuse panel but either way opening this one up would be very helpful.
well for everyones future reference i figured out how to get it open... you need to hammer out the 3 metal threaded studs that sit in there... that opens it up... also I am not missing any pins , but they must have gotten spread open further than factory standard which is why the relay was fitting so loosely
I realize this thread is only 12 years old, but you never know who might reply. Trying to get my C5 Corvette 2002 model under hood fuse panel separated. Just how did you hammer out those 3 threaded studs? Thanks.
Start a new thread. Piggybacking on a 12 year old thread will get you fewer responses than if you start your own, 2025 thread. Sometimes newer, more efficient, and better ways to fix/test things emerge after 12 years have passed...
