I just installed prebedded carbotech xp10's with centric rotors on just the front of my c5 z06. I did one bedding cycle and going to do another. However I notice that after the first cycle most the pad material is on the outer half of the rotor. What causes this? My pads seem installed correctly as there is no room to install any differently. Also I checked wheel bearings and they appear ok. This is the same on both front wheels. I have not done the rears yet to see but the old pads and rotor appear even.
They are pre bed do not bed them they were done before you put them on if you bought them per bed.

You were right about that. I just did a second bedding and they look even now. Sorry for jumping the gun on this post. I'm doing an hpde tomorrow and was concerned.
Pre bed is pre bed put them on and go! You can not produce a enough heat on the street to properly bed the XP10-24. We offer pre bed for this reason. When you buy a pre bed compound from us I always state take 1 lap easy pick it up 2nd lap 3rd lap hammer down. The pad will transfer material to your new rotors. This is the beauty of pre bed.
Adam, I decided to put new rotors on. Don't I have to bed those?
5. What is the proper way to bed brake rotors?
New discs (rotors) just like pads need to be bedded in. Proper bedding will increase the rotor life and make it more resistant to thermal cracking. Before installing the new brake discs (rotors), be sure to thoroughly clean discs with clean wipes and brake cleaner. By cleaning the disc surface you want to make sure you have completely removed any and all grease, surface residue, and debris that might contaminate or damage the brake pads. Once the discs (rotors) are installed on the vehicle perform the following procedure. Please note that you can bed new pads & discs (rotors) at the same time.
1.Start out with several near stops for the first 1-2 laps, while gradually increasing your speed and brake force with every stop.
2.Next, do another 1-2 laps at normal speed followed by a cool down lap. The gray coloration is the pad material depositing a transfer layer of material into the micro-grooves of the disc. This process is pinnacle in achieving the best performance and life out of the rotor.
3.Then allow rotor(s) to completely cool down to ambient temperature.
