Yes I did this at home and the car needs to be parked out in the sun and any wrinkles should go away. I do not think that the top can be stretched any tighter. No air or water leaks. Tight as a drum. I am happy and I did not pay someone 500$ to do a sloppy job. I think the Black Twill Canvas Tops are smoother and look better than the Hartz Sailcloth Vinyl and that is because the vinyl has a plastic that seems to take a long time to smooth out wrinkles. the bad spots on my old top were where the top wrinkled when it was folded down and the plastic cracked and peeled and was repaired with bath tub caulk. The wife says the car looks best with the clean white top and there is not a white top available that is not vinyl. The car looks and drives as if it were new, but there is 87,000 miles on it. I love my Corvette.

a big acknowledgement on the install. I put a new top on an old TR6 and it was so tough I made a life long mental note right then , to always farm this job out.

The pictures reminded me of that old navy blue car. I selected a tan top, just like in your pictures from robbins, even though it was not a stock color. Install came out perfect , but it was a struggle getting it tensioned correctly by a first timer. LIght tan top, baby blue interior and dark navy on the italian styled body, sitting on chrome knock off spokes.

So pretty this old guy called it a real ***** wagon. Never heard that phrase from the past before. One of the pluses of top sown motoring, conversation from the sideline observers.

I got the top from Sears , a rebranded Robbins top. Sears had more colors available, strange.

I would be very surprised if they 'go away'.

Fyi, my top I stuck on my car had no wrinkles in it whatsoever when finished, and the top material itself doesn't really crease.

I'm betting he'll have to pull it apart to fix it.

Btw, the top material stretches when wet (but not very much).

Yep!! Especially where he has issues right above the doors, looks like there is some padding or something missing underneath, looks like it's sitting on the top frame.

Adjustments are not that difficult after install once I had a little spare time. I took my car out on a run with Sam Houston Corvette Club and got lots of compliments and after readjusting I do not think any one could do a better job I Love My VETTE.
