Harmonic Balancer
Hi There, I have the dreaded wobble on my balancer (2005 base auto) checks reveal both a loose centre bolt and movement on the rubber, so it needs to be changed.
Have read a lot of the posts on here as I intend to do it myself but still have a couple of basic questions
Being in the UK specialist tools are not readily available so are there any other SAFE ways to hold the motor from turning apart from the proper flywheel lock tool? (Auto)
Pullers I have and can most likely adapt to suit plus plenty of heavy steel around to make one up if needed.
What thread is the centre bolt? as I don't want to use the old bolt to pull on the new balancer, I would rather try and find a generic tool to do the job.
Finally what are the thoughts on heating the balancer prior to fitting? is this a good idea or can it damage the rubber bond?
Any and all thoughts recommendations welcomed
