Same question was asked here about a week ago. One responder says that someone with HP Tuners Tuning software can tune out any codes that you have.
Find your favorite tuner that has HP Tuners and ask if they can program out what ever codes you are encountering. It may cost you more than $100 for the tuner to do that but if your happy without the error message flashing at you it may be worth it.
You will need to get programmed out all codes that show under 28 - TCS
Unfortunately HPtuners cannot control any ABS / BCM functions. We as tuners have been raising some hell about it for years but the software engineers see it as a "liability" to allow those functions.
HPTuners can pull codes, but it will not clear an ABS light. A Tech II scanner and/or a higher end Snap-on can go in and clear it, but if there's an actual ABS fault the light will come back on. The only way to "ignore" it would be to pull the cluster and put some black electrical tape behind the gauge overlay.
Just an FYI for those reading. We do take those pumps apart and fix them. They don't always come back alive, but we've got a ~80% success rate on getting them to come back and function as they should. *We ONLY do them if the car is @ the shop. We do not do any remote repairs*
Not a problem sir. I wasn't at all trying to step on your toes FWIW. Just merely offering the info for others out there that might be curious.
Believe me, I wish very badly that HPT offered more ABS/BCM support. It would have prevented me from having to purchase an additional $5K scanner that can access those functions.
We do offer a hot wire kit & repair package for those ABS motors and have fixed tons of the pre-01 units. We can't always get one to come back alive, but I'd say 8 out of the 10 we're able to revive and prevent the customer from paying big bucks for another unit.
I have a line on a '97 being parted out around here. I can get in contact with the guy that has it and see if the ABS module is available. That's the rear mounted one right? The car had sat for a couple years but was running/driving before being parked and parted out. It was written off after an off road excursion into a swamp. Got a little wet but the 'sealed' electronics should be in good shape.
