I have a 2004 ZO6 Z16 w/ 38Kmi and have a slight problem with the brakes. I seem to be experiencing pad knockback while stopping in a straight line. This does not happen while turning...
The symptoms are as follows as I am coming to a stop...
1st pump of the brake pedal is normal and firm
2nd pump drops about 1-1.5 inches below normal
3rd pump is back to normal firm engagement
What makes me think that it isnt a leak is that the first pump is ALWAYS nice and firm while the second one drops below normal engagement. It would seem that if it was a leak, that the first pump would be low and the second pump would be more firm.
I don't really know the answer to your problem but if it was me, I would bleed all four lines and see if the problem remains. If so, I would suspect the master cylinder.

I should probably start there. No one else has had a similar problem?
