c5 traction
hi guys, i have a c5 a4 with stock dimension 275 tires on the rear. if i get an intake and it tuned will i have traction problems? or should i get wider rear wheels? the car is fine as it is now even when i launch it. i currently have nitto 555 tires on it, and it also has 3.15 gears.

you don't need wider, you need a better compound. the 555 is a pretty hard and very old school tire. moving to the re11 is the exact same size will substantially increase traction.

TheMTazzi, racebum speaks the truth. I just got thru with engine mods and previously I had the exact same setup as you. 275 Nitto 555 rears, stock wheel sizes, 3.15 gears, A4, etc. I could easily light those tires up with the stock engine but overall they're decent, just nothing to write home about. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty well matched to the stock engine, but if you increase HP even a little, there's much better options available. You'll be able to squeeze up to a 285/295 on the stock wheel (although it would be better with a 10.5" rim) and look for better compound (sticky) tires. There are a ton of options available to you on this subject. I'm now running 315/35/18 Toyo Proxes TQ street drag radials on 10.5" rims and they stick like glue, even with the new HP. On the down side, they will wear out faster than the Nitto 555s... good luck and keep us informed.
