Paint Stripper
I have a chance to purchase a used Z06 carbon fiber hood for my 04 Le Mans Blue Commemorative Edition (current hood has damage where the previous owner tried to open with one hood latch still latched), but it's the wrong color, what paint stripper can I safely use to not degrade the carbon fiber. I have used Captain Lees to strip a C2 can I use it on the Z06 hood.

You can also get it from a marine supply store (interlux makes it) but it tends to be more expensive (think boat tax instead of Corvette tax).
Just make sure it says "safe for fibergalss" on the container.
Also, don't expect it to work as well as more aggressive strippers.
If you don't use a safe stripper it can eat down into the carbon fiber and you will have a lot more work in preparing the surface for painting.

any body shop can clean it, sand it and paint it.. no need to strip it.
Now you say its a used Z06 Carbon fiber hood, is it aftermarket or what? only the Z16 Com. Edition had a carbon fiber hood from the factory and they where all LeMans Blue... someone repaint it or is it not factory?
