Default Engine performance upgrade advice?

I have a 2000 C5 vert LS1 with 40,000 miles

Current upgrades:
- vararam
- LG super pro long tube headers 1 3/4
- High flow cat
- Corsa Exhaust
- 160 t-sat
- LS7 clutch and flywheel
- Custom tuning

I would like more power without going to a super charger.
so seems my options are:
- new heads
- cam
- intake
- throttle body
- and tune
I would like to achieve 450+ whp. need to know which types to
Car needs to be streetable and a daily driver

My budget is around $8k

Let me know your thoughts and advice as I am not sure what to select in terms of parts that work well together.

Heads, Cam, intake should get you where you want to be. I am by no means an expert but i can tell you i have read a few post about heads and cam lately what might be helpfull..

Do you have Emissions testing where you are located? that will help decide what Cam you will want to go with. LS6 intake/TB should get you where you want to be for the intake manifold setup.. If you come accross a Good deal on a FAST 90/92 then that might be a good option as well.

Will you be doing the work or must the $8k include labor? Why have you ruled out forced induction? You seem like a great candidate for centrifugal blower.

Good list. I also added:
Dual springs
Harland Sharp roller rockers
LS7 lifters
Custom grind cam 224/230 .585/.592 113 LSA
LS2 timing gears
hi-volume/hi-pressure oil pump

I already had the LS6 intake. It put down 420RWHP; 392 RWTQ

$8K should be plenty (with labor).

Enjoy your build.

Why not do a blower????? They are perfectly smog legal and will be more power than 450hp and cheaper than 8k. Just sayin

For 8K, i would opt for supercharger. If you put 8K in motor mods, it is not going to run as smoothly on the street as stock. The Super Charged engine will. Why do yo think that this is route GM went with the ZR1?

Better daily driver and more HP than heads or cam will give you. To get a naturally aspirated engine to up to 500 RWHP, you are going to be in much more than 8K (unless yo are starting with a c6 Z06).

Which super charger setup is recommended?
Keeping in mind to keep the objective is to pass emissions and drive ability
Do I need to change the intake, throttle body, injectors and fuel rail? Or is this a nice to do?

A&A has a completely smog legal setup. The intake will stay, the throttle body can stay as well. The injectors will be swapped for 60lbers on the stock fuel rail. It will run as stock, give those guys a call and they can get you set up with a kit and a tuner in your area. You will still have about a grand in your pocket!

I would say go drive both and see the difference but for what your are about to pay in heads and cam you will get your doors blown off by the sc car that paid less and I mean pulled like a freight train..
