Default Lock tool

Any one got any hints on how to lock the engine to remove crank pully without having to spent $120+ on the locking tool?
Thanks Robert

Did mine with a large strap wrench around the balancer. If you have to buy the strap wrench you can find them anywhere from $50-$80 and will have it for future projects.

I bought one of the Kent-Moore flywheel tools, and I don't remember where I bought it, but I guarantee I didn't pay $120 for it...

Is it an automatic or a manual transmission?

If it is a manual, then just put it in 6th gear. That worked for me.

If it is an automatic, you might try some of the parts stores. Many of them loan tools for free with just a deposit that you get back. They may not have the lock tool, but they may have the strap wrench.

Good luck.
