Interior panel flexing/squeaking/rattling...
I just bought a 97 Coupe with less than 28,000 miles on it, and it's in near perfect condition in and out. One of the only things that really gets me is the fact that most of the interior panels flex over the slightest of bumps and make lots of noise over rougher pavement. I previously owned a 99 Camaro SS which I thought were plagued with a rough, noisy ride from both interior and suspension pieces. While the actual *ride* on my Corvette is nicer, it's hard to enjoy with how much noise the panels make, sounding like they are about to fall off. My SS felt much tighter on the inside, with more mileage. I'm wondering, can I take these panels off and tighten them in any way to prevent flexing, etc? They all feel pretty loose to me. Namely both door panels, the center console plastic piece over the radio etc., the large plastic expanse over my head behind the targa top, the inside rearview mirror (moves under heavy bumps) and other various small parts. Let me know if anyone has the same problems/fixes, I assumed the interior would be tighter than the Camaro...if I can fix these she'll be perfect! :cheers: Thanks in advance,

I know for a fact the center console plastic piece over the radio makes a lot/most of noise, tighten that and use maybe a little felt, and will sound much better!

My dealer just replaced the drivers door inner panel because the styrofoam had come loose from the panel itself and was creaking over bumps and any time I leaned on the arm rest.
I would think that you could remove the panel and rebond things to save money if a new panel is expensive, but I dont know the price. Good luck, my car has been pretty good about squeaks.
