O2 sensors
I changed my front O2 sensors recently and I could not believe how much better the engine felt. I went with OEM AC Delco. I was told that there have been some significant improvements in response speed with modern O2 sensors so just that alone would make the swap worth it.
I had my car in the shop and was all whipped up to to get stuff done while it was apart, so I suggested changing the o2 sensors. Probably getting my car out of his repair bay was foremost on his mind, but the service managers position was replacing working parts with new , but unknown parts, is looking for problems.
Not wanting to explore the currant state of quality control on these parts, I went his way. His idea was to wait for failure. I guess that is a more productive approach for him. I didn't want to make waves on a small thing, seeking to build a good relationship.
I've had the idea to change them out since I saw a Two Guys garage with a c5 under the lights. They replaced these sensors and showed the generated sine waves on the old and the new sensors on a handheld display called Otto tune. I wanted one until I saw the price. The new waves were tighter.
