LS1/LS6 Question
Hey. I see quite often that starting from 2001 (correct year?) all Corvettes use the same bottom end as the LS6. Is that right? If so.. Then what makes an LS6 and LS6? What's the difference from the LS1? The top end? Heads, intake and stuff like that?

The '01 LS1's had the same intake manifold as the LS6 which is why the '01 and up LS1's are rated at 350 horse instead of 345. I know the heads are slightly different and the LS6 has a different cam. After all, there is a 55 horsepower difference. Do a search, there have been several posts about LS1/LS6 differences.

ls1/ls6 in 2001 all share the same intake, but the block became the same on all cars produced in late 2001 models. differences in the ls6 and ls1 now are heads, cams, and valvetrain.
