I have set my car up to pass cali emissions, but two systems will not complete the readiness tests. Everything has always been fine and in an event that I have to disconnect the battery or reset the computer, all tests have always cleared.
But I have been running around with my scan tool hooked up for quite awhile now and the "cat" and "evap" nodes will not stop flashing. There is no check light, but they just seem to be not completing.
Whatever is going on is not bad enough to throw a code, but my time is almost up on when I need to register and these tests will not complete.
I had to do the same in the spring and found that my C5 completed them fairly quickly, probably within about 20 or 30 miles of driving. I checked out how long my Canyon took and it was well over 100 miles to complete.
You could look up some driving cycles and try them.
Also, do you have to have every monitor complete or are you allowed 1 or 2 to not be complete? Around here, up to 2000 is 2 not complete and 2001+ is 1 not complete.
The car is a heads, cam, and intake car. It never had a problem with readiness test even with all that. The change was replacing a set of shorty headers with the stock ones. I dont see that as such a big change as to stop the tests from completing.
