I removed my Halltech Tric Flow for the 1st time to clean. I used simple green and it cleaned very well. I was not sure how to re-oil the filter. Was told to use mineral oil. I evidently used too much and re-cleaned the filter. I next put mineral oil in a spray bottle and lightly sprayed and allowed to dry. Seems ok now but before I re-install the filter how can I be certain there is enough oil?
I dont know about the procedure of the haltech. I have the K&N gen II and there is a good explanaition how to do it. I can post it here if you like, but i am not shure if this is the same procedure . . .
I dont know if the Filters are the same Material.
From: Ponderables, yes. My opinion, not totally. Preaching...I don't have a pulpit. Fact and generalizations about what I am reading on behalf of what you tell me...absolutely.
Re: Air Filter Cleaning (Andy_A)
This is what I got from RG of Exit28 on their filter. I would be sure that the process is the same.
The following reply was posted by RG in Dallas:
You can use the cleaner Simple Green to clean, and mineral oil to spray lightly with a coating that doesn't drip fom the filter. 50 cents worth of stuff and you can use the rest around the house. Well, the Simple Green that is.:) After cleaning and before oiling, let it air dry after rinsing the simple green cleaner from it.
You should be able to get 7500 mile unless you are in extreme dusty conditions.
