This morning I was driving and I was having clutch chatter. This is fairly normal for my McLeod RST w/ stock flywheel. Decided to press the clutch in and out a few times while rolling in 4th. Then I come to a stop light.
When I took off from the light the car made a grinding noise while I engaged the clutch. This is VERY different from the chattering I normally hear. It is coming from the flywheel clutch area. If I am rolling in 1st or 2nd and depress the clutch peddle I can hear it as well. On the highway I don't hear or feel it.
Thoughts? Looks like I am going to have to drop the drivetrain... Not looking forward to that.
Your same symptom is what's happening in my DD- 01 audi a4. I was told throwout bearing as well. I don't even know what the throwout bearing does, anyone mind explaining it?
