Had something strange happen yesterday. Someone informed me my brake lights were out so i checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. So i swapped the fuse but only passenger side was operational. A few min later the fuse blew again. The odd thing was when I pressed on the petal the interior lighting went off. the gauge lighting only. the gauges were still operational. Has any one seen this before or able to shed some light on this?
Does the 3rd center brake light work? That will tell something about what is going on. Sure sounds like a short somewhere. The 3rd brake light power is routed around the Hazard and Multifunction switches.
I didnt check that but i do know when the fuse blew the hazards where not working. then i replaced the fuse and only one side was blinking with the hazards on.
ok back on it.... the lights started working when i press the brake. the instrument lights came back. But now when the headlights are switched on the tail lights are not coming on. Could the wires that were touching have caused some other issues? I have been reading up on the multifunction switch but I am not showing any other symptoms and all of these issues started with the melting of the wires.
Yea I did check that fuse. That was the fist thing I did that and 8. However all is well.... I woke up this morning and everything was working fine.... i guess she just needed some time to think about what she did....
