Right now i've got 369 RWHP on stock injectors , but I am having a set of heads reworked by Advanced Induction and hoping to get another 35 or so HP . With that said will I need larger injectors ? I believe my 2000 has 26.6 , would it be better to put the LS6 28# and be safe or are the 26.6 going to be sufficient.....xzo
honestly you will need to scan it and see what your injector Pulse width is. if your more then 80% Duty cycle then you want to upgrade. on a NA motor with cam/heads/headers then it would be a good idea to upgrade.. Honestly if you have a tuner you might want to go up a little more to a 36-42lb injector and give yourself some more room to grow and still have a size that is easy to tune for idle.
Alot of guys run Heads/Cam/Headers on stock injectors.. so you might not need them yet.. But if you have access to others you might consider it. 26 to 28lb injectors isnt a big change but you will still want to tune the ecu.

I have a 2000 with the smaller stock injectors (only year to have them by the way). When I had my car tuned by John Page at 21st Century a few years back, he indicated my 360 RWHP was OK, but getting pretty close for these small units. He said the 28# units were OK for up to 400 RWHP under normal conditions (typical 10-15 second runs at full throttle) as they could supply the correct fuel, but would tend to heat up if held at high duty cycle for too long.
So, it would seem you probably should switch up. And, as stated above, if you are not finished modding at the 400 RWHP level, then a bit more might be in order. Remember of course that the larger the injector the more difficult to tune for idle, low-speed driveability, and maximum mid-range torque. A few years back, almost new 28# take-off units could be had for a song, so that might be a factor But take-offs are getting pretty old these days.
Bottom line- you gotta get a new tune with bigger heads, so take the advice of the tuner while he's setting it up.
