This was with the wrench set on 150lb-ft... Luckily, a quick trip to the hardware store and $3 yielded a nearly identical replacement, albeit one constructed of much better material (grade 8 I think it was).
Oh, I got my Bilsteins put on today. Big thanks to the Houston guys that helped me out!!

I think it was more like "the Clear Lake guy" than the Houston guys.
Jim, always fun to hang at your place with the mod bunch. And not just for the garage A/C. :D  :D
Dan, I really hope you like the Bilsteins and lowering cuz we would hate to have to watch you guys do all that work again. I would not sweat the broken bolt and agree that the high torque spec is probably bogus. Especially now that I have seen two bolts broken out of five sets. <I would check and retorque the new one in a hundred miles or so, just to be safe>
Yea, I hear there were some leftover "fireworks" today. Too bad I missed it, but you know how I am with those early morning, the other side of fricking Harris county get togethers. :D If it wasn't for my own "adjustments" this morning, I would have probably trecked down. Always love Cheryl's snacks.
From the Service Manual. It's listed as 162lb-ft (220NM) in both the 1998 and 2002 manuals. We can't figure out why it's so high. Perhaps some of the tech guys that read the forums can shed some light?
