Hey guys this might be one of those "out there questions", but living here in Florida my 1997 C5 is my daily driver. We have seen consistent high temps and high humidity since may till around now which is typical. It's extremely hot and humid, then this time of year the cold fronts start to push through and the humidity levels and temps are drastically reduced. I know on hot and humid days my car feels much more doggy, and for some reason it has that "old car exhaust smell". I dont know if it is the rich factory tune or what, the cats on the car are stock with 130k and I have borla straight pipes. It doesn't have a rotten egg smell, just a funny exhaust odor. My question is, since the temps have dropped so much as the fronts come through, will disconnecting my battery for 24 hours actually completely reset the ecu and the saved air intake temps etc that the computer calibrates? It seems that since i have done that the car is running stronger. Is this actually possible and true, or is it just the cooler weather alone? I'm not sure what all the ecu on the corvette's actually saves for info as far as stock tuning etc. Is this pointless to do, or am I really actually seeing ANY gains? Maybe someone can explain to me a little more how the stock tune works and how it calibrates for extreme temp changes overnight etc. Thanks
