Default Got it running, new issue.

So i found the issue with the fuel pressure and got it running but now it keeps tossing the belt off the Super charger. i've put 40K on the S/C and never had an issue with it. I noticed the balancer wobbles a bit (always had) but might be more now. the belt seems to be working its way off the rear of the pulleys going up through the A&A bracket. Ive put it back on several times (isnt easy on a S/c car) and rolled it through by hand spinning the blower pulley all pulleys spun true (crank pulley didnt turn just slipped the belt) seems all good. tightened it down as tight as i could get it and start it for less than 8 seconds and it did it again. I'm thinking about doing a new crank pulley but has anyone else had this issue? I know it sounds like a miss alignment but There are no shims in these brackets (alternator, power steering, S/C) between them and the block/head. its pretty straight forward. so if everything is tight, no loose pulleys and it seems to me that if the engine spins Clockwise from the front the last pulley to touch the belt before it gets all nuts is the crank. ideas?

Is the balancer pinned? Stock balancer is known for being a problem, especially if it's wobbling.

Get a Gates laser alignment tool ASAP, and yes post in the FI section. Do you have a 6 rib or 8 rib? and you say the your balancer is wobbling? DEFINITELY should not be doing this! Who did the install?

well the balancer wobbled from the day I bought it. the rubber grommet is all cracked. i did a cam and re-installed it. and I don't know if its wobbling more or the same but i noticed when removing it the rubber looked like crack.

6 rib set up. (only 3.6in pulley).

I ordered a new balancer and ARP bolt so hopefully that works I was just hoping I didnt have to pull this all back apart.

Is the balancer pinned? You will need to do so on the new balancer you bought. This may have something to do with the "wobbling". The extra tension on the belt because of the blower, you need to ensure that it is either pinned or keyed to ensure it is going no where. I know it is a pain getting the steering rack and balancer off but this is first and foremost

its keyed. not sure if it was factory or not but when I removed the bolt it has a small pin holding it in one spot on the crank so I put it back in with the grooves for it aligned when I re-installed it. (which sucked!) because the groove isnt all the way back so I can align it with the key in until its part way on but irrelevant I got it all on there but now this seems to be the issue.

Ok. Install that new balancer and get yourself a laser aligner. There is a sticky in the FI section by blownblue how to properly calibrate, and use it. Adjust the pulleys accordingly. Do remember that even a quarter of a rib can throw a belt at the right RPM. Once you have it all lined out it will be worth it. Any more questions.........

remove, install a NEW one since a wobbly one can damage the engine and check alignment of the pulleys. Make sure they are in line with each other, it sounds like one is leaning which would throw it when running. Is the belt properly tightened?

Your not saving yourself anything by using a old one, just because it was on the car doesn't mean its correct or appropriate to continue to use.
