Default Engine Builders doing head cam swap.

When companies say they do head and cam packages, Do they normally repalce the lifters in the application or leave the stock ones in place ?

They leave orig unless you request the change. Depending on miles and how it was driven i would suggest you change them out(Johnson Lifters) american built. This will also require the measure the pushrods for proper length and lash.

Standard ls7 lifters will be fine. Don't forget to change the lifter trays while you are in there.

Depending on miles but since its a C5 I would say while the heads are off changing the lifters is cheap insurance

Well I had the head and cam swap back in 08, but just started hearing a intermittant sound from the right bank it is not constant though. Just trying to get some imput on things to check.

Well yesterday took right bank valve cover off to list to the valvetrain, Everything sounded and looked good, no broken rockers valves compressing, but after lifting the car and taking the inspection plug out I heard this sound which is intermittant doesnt sound like a lifter noise. sounds more like possibly something in the torgue tube almost like a bolt rattling back and fourth any one with any suggestions ? it is a A4 05 coupe 55,000 on the car.

Will try, it is funny when u let off gas no noise but when you accelorate then u hear it off and on.
