Vacuum Sound when A/C is off??
I have developed a "vacuum" sound when my A/C is off?? As soon as I turn the A/C on the sound goes away... what could this be? I am currently NOT running the belt to the A/C pump... however; I believe I still heard this sound BEFORE I removed the belt.
I had a squealing issue... that is why I have removed the belt. I am waiting on replacement pulleys and a new belt to come in.

In the interim get a friend to help you ID where the vacuum leak seems to be coming from. Two ears are better than one. You could also use auto stethoscope to see if it is in the engine compartment or in the dash. They are cheap at only about $10 at most auto stores or Harbor Freight.
