Default Question on Eibach Lowering Springs

I've heard that these are better than simply lowering on stock bolts. I was thinking coilovers but I don't track the car and think coilovers would just be overkill. Does anyone have experience with these?

I plan to do the Pfadt Johnny O'Connell Stage 1 kit but this doesnt affect ride height. I just hate the stock gap with the HREs on the car. I have a question about their advertising...

"This kit for the C5 Corvette will lower you Corvette's stance from 0 - 2.0 inches in the front & rear. This kit can give your car a more muscular stance, and improve handling, without compromising clearance! Fits 1997 - 2004 Corvette!"

Stance -sure
improved handling - iffy but don't care. Stage 1 will take care of that
no compromise on clearance - ?!?!?!?!?!?

That is my question. How can you possibly lower the car and not compromise clearance? Is it just the body this brings down? I just don't get it. Thanks for chiming in. Oh and experienced opinions on the Stage 1 package would also be appreciated

Eibach Lowering kit is 2 Longer bolts and 2 shorter dampeners (fit rear of car)... they dont replace the springs. our cars run 2 transverse MONO leaf springs (one in front and one in rear, facing side to side)

it allows you to lower it more then stock bolts.. THATS it.. So try lowering it with stock bolts 1st and see how you like it. Lowering the vehicle an inch or so wont be the end of the workd for suspension ride. make sure you get a GOOD alignment after all the work is done and it will handle fine. you adjust the bolt to where you are happy with Height vs Clearance. there is a HOW TO LOWER YOUR VETTE post on here if you search.

I have heard nothing but good things about JOC Stg1 setup and its a good price.. you can also do C6Z06 shocks with C6Z51 sway bars/Metal sway end links if you want to save a couple bucks, not quite as good as the JOC setup but definatly better then stock C5 (non Z06) setup... especially if its getting old or high mile.

Lower the stock bolts 1st then if it doesnt sit low enough then spring for longer bolts...

I have the eibach bolt kit in my 02... The front is as low as it will go, and the rear has a slight rake and will go a lot lower. Rides firm, but still nice!

Just keep in mind the more you lower the less compression travel you have. You will hit the bump stops with the wheels about 1/4" or so up inside the wheel wells. Using stiffer springs as you lower will keep from hitting the bump stops as hard but they make the ride stiffer themselves. Also, the C6Z06, JOC or Bilstein shocks all give about the same travel.
