Here's my current set up makin 402 rwhp....

LS1 stock block
243 heads, hobby hand massaged
1.8 roller rockers
Cam specs
DUR @ .004" 272*/280*
DUR @ .050" 210*/218*
LIFT .551/.551
LSA 106*

Varam CAI
Fast 90mm intake
90mm C6 throttle body
36# injectors
Tuned to 6600 rpm redline

B&B bullets
ZO6 manifolds
Straight pipes

I'd like to get to 450-475, I just purchased new kooks long tubes and 3" x-pipe. Should see 25 to 30 hp increase it seems from what I've read.

Would sending out the heads for some professional porting do me much good?

Upgrading to a fast 102mm help as well?

Any input to add that bit more would be much appreciated, had thought about a complete new forged crate motor, but the expense will destroy my C6 savings, and I'm really lookin to add a C6 after the holidays when pickins should be good.

Joe

You're on the right track, with the LTs coming next. You could do better with the cam, and have better drivability at the same time. Go for a cam that specs out closer to 228-236, LSA 113, and lift about .575. It'll be smoother than that one you have, and have much better midrange. I assume you've already done good springs.

Yes sir, dual springs installed

I'll check into a new cam then, that would be sweet if a cam change will get there

Cam and some professional porting will put you right where you want to be.

I wouldn't move to the FAST 102 if you already have a 90 or 92. They are still great intakes. You may consider an under drive pulley. With the right thought out cam, 1.8 rockers are not necessary and can cause more stress to the valve train.. but I understand using them if you have them. Have the intake port matched to the heads when the heads are done. All the fine details in the things you already have will net you a good amount more.

Thank you for the input guys, I'm goin to hunt a cam and have the heads professionally ported with the intake over the winter. Just about ready to start takin the car apart as I have been accumulating quite a bit of parts to install over the winter.
