I was at my daughter college d2 playoff game and had to park in a grassy field. Coming out we picked up some mud on the tires so once i got on the pavement I did the veer r-l-r to clean up my tires on may way out of the lot. I got the warning in the title, and the yellow tractrl light came on. I could still turn the trac control on/off with the switch, but the warning never cleared until I cycled the system. I assume I whacked out the sensors with my cleanup stunt but thought the messgae kind of strange. Havnt checked for codes but will do next chance. Anybody seen this one?
It is normal for that to happen if you are in a parking garage or have to make turns at a slow rate until you can go straight at over 5 mph for a short time so the swps can get through testing itself. It freaked me out the first time it happened also.
Thanks for the replies. Another learn something new on this thing! So if I am interpreting correctly once the alarm sets:
1. Traction Control is disabled, hence the alarm light on the dash, results in the switch doing nothing even though it says it is turning on/off.
2. Once you get cruising with the wheels true, the alarm should abate and the trac control would return to normal operation.
I was in traffic and eventually shut down to save gas...maybe not >5mph but certainly many minutes with the wheels in a true alignment. The alarm cleared only after the full system recycle.
