Having said that, if you do something with the heads, like a 3 angle valve job and some mild bowl blending, then the exhaust system is a "cork". Then it's headers and a "true dual" system....
Looking for some insight on what to do with the heads that i have on my L-82. i want to get more HP out of the engine.
what are some options for heads to put on the engine to give me more HP? i prefer factory not aftermarker
3rd gen tpi heads were much better than what you have currently, but if it were me I'd go with after market aluminum heads. They can be bought cheaper than you can have a set rebuilt, if done right. The AFR or Pro Comp heads flow pretty good right out of the box. I've been running a ported set of Pro Comps on my race car for 4 years, they have been no problems so far. Depending on where you are located I have a set of the TPI heads I bought for a project street car that never happened, I'd sell pretty cheap, but shipping on cast iron heads can get expensive. If interested pm me or email me. i'm in central IL.
