Default Best way to remove paint from dash?

I painted the letters on my dash about a week ago. I like the look but I recently got chrome letter inserts that I think would look better. What's the best way to go about removing this paint? I've already tried rubbing alcohol and makeup remover to no avail...

Xylene or lacquer thinner and Q tips then something to scrape that won't damage the surface like a slice of a bondo spreader but they maybe you should just apply them over the paint.

I ended up putting the letters over the paint last night. From certain angles you can see the chrome letters with silver paint outlines. I'm not sure if I like it. I can see a pure paint look and pure chrome look but a mixture of the two looks weird to me. Maybe it will grow on me.

Thanks for your suggestion! A friend of mine also suggested I use GooGone. On their website it states that GooGone is safe for Vinyl. Between GooGone, lacquer thinner and Xylene I'm hoping I can get the paint off around the letters.

Sandblasting. If you want to be sure.

Your other option is to buy a can of black vinyl trim paint from Autozone then spray some into a container like the cap and use a small artists brush to carefully cover over the silver.
