C5/C6 Controls Arms/Bushings
I am new here I currently am building a ProTouring 1969 Camaro and have decided to go with an aftermarket front subframe which uses the C5/C6 suspension. I found/joined this forum to find out more about the corvette suspension and find out what upgrades are worthwhile. I just recently was able to purchase a complete almost new front/rear controls arms (upper/lower) in the classifieds. Thanks Batman06 The arms only had approximately 1500 miles on them and came with the VBP poly bushings installed. He also included the brand new rubber bushings which were removed to install the poly bushings! I have tried to search, however have not found the answers I am looking for Please feel free to help me out I have the following questions:
1. Are the c6 front upper control arms different or can they be interchanged from L to R? I can't find a part # on them. They look the same however want to make sure.
2. The subframe manufacture indicated the poly bushings would ride very rough and recommended switching back to the stock rubber bushings?? What do you think?
3. Also, there are 2 shafts stamped with a "F" and 2 stamped with "R" on the stock rubber bushings for the front upper control arms? Do these indicate Front/Rear?
4. If I do switch back to the stock bushings do I lube them when pressing back in or just use a rubbing alcohol/water mixture?
5. For the front uppers, when pressing the stock rubber bushings back in do they need to be "clocked" correctly? I would assume it won't rotate like to current poly bushings.
Sorry for so many ?'s I appreciate you taking the time to answer them
On a side note I am only using the front control arms and am looking the sell the rears as well as the VBP bushing kit depending on your advice. Thanks again!
Lonnie

Good luck
