Hey guys!! Recently had my car torn down for a few months to install a ttix kit. Upon finishing my car and taking out for tuning the service tire system warning came on and even after putting 30lbs of pressure into my tires and resetting codes it will not reset or allow me to try and reprogram the sensors again by using the tire training in the dic. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!! Its been in the 20-30's here lately as well. Thanks
I recently watched a GM tech relearn my TPMS and he used a large magnet. With the ignition switch turned to the on position he placed the magnet over the tire pressure monitor on each wheel until the horn honked. One of my monitors didn't work and the system didn't work (tire pressures didn't show)until I had the defective monitor replaced. Then the tire pressure readings worked after driving the car. Hope this helps.

Pull your codes so we know what the car says. Here is the relearn procedure, not sure exactly what your method was. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a minute or so can reset the modules. Get back with us.
Here are the directions if needed:
Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor Programming
The Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) system interfaces with the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) through the serial data line. Once the program mode is accessed through the IPC, each sensor's unique identification code can be programmed into the receiver's memory. Each sensor must transmit the unique code in the proper sequence. A magnet must be held close to the sensor in order to force the sensor to transmit the identification code. The IPC will display a message as each sensor is programmed, and when to proceed to the next sensor for programming. The receiver also sends a message to the BCM to sound the horn one time, indicating that the sensor properly transmitted an identification code. If the programming sequence is cancelled before any sensor is programmed, or if the vehicle's battery is disconnected, the receiver will remember all current identification codes. As soon as the receiver learns the first sensor identification code, all previously stored codes are erased from the receiver's memory.
Tool required (any medium strength magnet, U or Disk type)
The official GM tool is (J 41760) Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Programming Tool.
1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
Notice: Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Cautions and Notices.
5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin
the programming sequence.
7. Install the J 41760 Tire Pressure Programming Tool over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed
by the IPC messages:
- LEARN R FRONT TIRE
- LEARN R REAR TIRE
- LEARN L REAR TIRE
Programming Cancellation
1. The programming mode will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are met: - The program mode is exited through the DIC.
- The ignition is turned to OFF.
- All four sensors have been programmed.
- The TPM system has been in the program mode for longer than 2 minutes and no sensors
have been learned.
2. If the program mode is cancelled with less than four codes stored, the receiver will only accept the codes programmed up to that point.
When you start the process and cant learn one of the tires it is prob a bad sensor. I had 3 good on mine. unfortunately the bad one was the second in sequence. when you have a bad one you cant progress in the sequence. so if its the 2nd the other two cant be relearned. so I always had the message pop up until I replaced the broken one.
I found that not to be true on my 98 vert i had a bad r frt sensor it wouldnt retrain but if u wait like a minute the dic in the dash tells u to go to the L R and then the R R as the system will then learn those 2.
When u access the dic TPMS system when driving after that it will show u 3 tire pressures. It will skip the RF reading and move the others up and add the none working TPMS in last.
On my '99 I had one bad LF sensor. When I was training them, I used a wheel that was on another car for the LF wheel and then mine for the other 3. I would still get the message, but the other 3 would show up normally.
When I fixed it I went with the upgrade setup to the '01+ sensors, receiver, and fobs.
Any 1 know why my key fobs keep losing sync even after doing the soldering on both and the receiver but my tire sensors dont lose sync and u can bring it up when your moving?
I have replaced 1 fob with a brand new 1 from chevy but it doesnt even want to sync.
I sure as hell dont want to buy a receiver and have the same **** happening.
I'm about to just go put in an after market door and trunk system and just use the old receiver for the tires.
I could buy a used receiver for like 90 dollars but hell i can buy the after market system install for 125 dollars and sell the fobs i have and make back my $$$$

I don't know, but here are my thoughts.
On my '99 the key fobs kept losing sync when the car battery was getting old. The car would start and run normally, but the battery voltage when cranking caused the fob sync problem. I started using a battery maintainer and the problem went away for about 2 years then recurred and I bought a new battery and no problem again.
When you sync the new fob are you doing the fob training through the DIC or are you only doing the resync by pressing both buttons on the fob? If it will not train through the DIC do you have the right fob? (early'97-'00 do not interchange with late '01-'04)
Bought a new fob from chevy for it and the other is the original fob with the slider switch both test out perfect on the dealers testing machine. I resync using the fob training in the DIC. Some times the new fob wont even sync and both take a long time to sync if they do. hen the next day neither 1 will work and i didnt try starting the car before i tried them the next day.
