So I was thinking about getting a cam in my 2000 C5. I got a quote the other day from a local shop and he suggested when I do my cam to upgrade the torque converter. After some research, it seems like a good idea.
Now my actual question since I bought my car used with ls6 intake, cold air, headers and Borla exhaust and it has factory 3.15 gears, it already shifts somewhat hard out of first and someone said maybe it was tuned that way but is there a way to figure out if it has had the torque converter upgraded already with out taking it out?
You can try brake stalling and flashing the converter. You can look up how to. If the RPM you see is noticeably above stock, it may be done. But it is unlikely that it has a converter if its just a bolt on's car. Tuning to the shift pressures has likely been done.
