Default Low coolant sensor and sensor pigtail(connector) missing ???

While i was taking some pics to help Toque on another thread, i told myslef that i could unbolt my coolant surge tank and drain it.This way i would be ready to install the new one when it will be shipped.

But here is the bottom of my tank :

It seems that it got no sensor in it, and the other things that bothers me is that nothing was connected to the tank, no pigtail or connection. After some searching i couldnt even find the low coolant sensor wire
I got the car for 3 years now and i never had any low coolant light or dic message or code...Does anyone got a pics of the pass side engine bay to show me what to look for (connector) ???But i can swear after a hole our of looking with good lighting that there is no connector what so ever...

Or maybe its just me and everything is wireless(sarcasm )

Thanks
Eric

Depends on your year. The newer models don't have it. If I recall correctly, 2000 - 2001 and later don't have them.

From what I found, 2000 forward didn't use a sensor. So you don't have one.

I have a 2001 and the FSM. I had thought there was a sensor but when I helped a friend with a coolant issue a year ago I was surprised to see there was no sensor. Hope you were drinking beer for the hour you looked. I would hate to think you wasted a whole hour just looking.

Thanks for all the info
Now that i know that the tank got no sensor, im now wondering:

If i ever miss some coolant, what would tell my pcm that i got a low coolant level if there is no sensor in the tank and no sensor in the rad ???

The PCM just monitors the actual coolant temperature and sends a message to the IPC if the temperature exceeds 256 F. Not sure why they deleted the level sensor unless it was to save a few pennies. The FSM still shows the low level input to the IPC for this except it says "not used".
