Default Time to replace motor mounts?

Im in the process of replacing my ls1 with a 6.0 lq9 and 150shot of spray. Pulled the stock motor a couple days ago and noticed that the mounts looked a little "weathered" to me. Dont want to spend the coin on a new set if these look like theyll hold up at the track. So what do you all think? Will these be fine or should I just replace them?

Thanks guys

My opinion.

If you're already there, I'd replace them. RevShift, Hinson, Pfadt... Pick your poison. But there's no way in hell my new motor would ride stock rubber.

Decided to go ahead and look into replacing them while I'm in there.

Racebum - Definitely not as supple as when I first got the car back in 09' but they're still holding up. No leaks yet. My house is 20 miles or so from the nearest shorline so luckily I dont have the salt air to deal with.

A nice solid mount set will help put the power to the wheels. But I feel the engine inside a little more with mine. Not bad though.

Ive got pfadt motor mounts and their diff mount and I love them, there is a little bit of vibration at idle but not too bad at all and I have a decent size cam with ported heads and fast 92 intake

Considered going with the Pfadts but luckily a fellow member PM'd me with a great deal on a set of Hinson mounts so went that route. Gonna be rocking the Pfadt diff brace out back as well

Ran into a little issue when I tried bolting up the engine mount bracket that goes to the block. Turns out the LQ9 block has an unused bolt hole thats contacting the bracket and keeping it from bolting down flush. Unless Im doing something wrong looks like something has to get ground down a little.. either the block or the mount. My initial thoughts were to grind the block rather than possibly weakening the motor mount bracket but what do you all think?

Went to town on the mount today with an angle grinder. Fairly straight foward and simple. Dont think it took more them 15 minutes start to finish.

Glad for you, the post I read on the mount basically said there wasn't any problem in what you modified. I will be having to do the same thing very soon too !
