Hi,
I noticed that the right side speakers are not a loud as the left. I moved the balance control all the way to the right and there is sound but I have to turn the volume up higher to get he sound level similar the the left. Is this normal? If not what could be the cause?
I just bought the car and it is all stock so no mods were made to radio or speakers.
If it does the same thing with the radio and the CD/Cassette, it is most likely the Bose amp and not the radio unit itself but it could be. If some one in your area has a spare radio, you could try that first. I have one, not sure where you are at.

Thank you for the replies. I am located in Wi. The car is waiting in the garage for spring. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem so I could get any parts (amp, speaker or what ever ) so when I take it out of storage I could do a quit fix.
The system is fairly complicated. The radio directly feeds one speaker in each door and the rear speaker, Then the radio feeds a Bose signal processer that feeds a Bose amplifier in the door for the subwoofer. Total of 6 speakers.
Would like to know if the CD/Cassette does the same thing. Also, MAKE SURE the rear speaker on that side is/is not low and not just one or both in the door that is low. If the rear speaker sounds fine then most likely it is the amp in the door or the signal processer. Still could be the radio since the outputs to the processer are separate. Sound complicated?
The more info you can provide the better to help figure out what may be going on.

Yes it sounds complicated. I will check it out to see if the rear speaker is also affected. I am thinking it is since I noticed the difference in the sound on the right side. The car is in the car bubble till it gets warmer her in Wi. I will post what I find. I am thinking it is the amp so may just buy the speakers to have just in case.
Thought I should clarify. If the front and rear speakers both are affected then it is your radio (99.99% sure) unless you have multiple wiring issues which would be really bizarre. I would hold off buying parts until you at least verify that unless you are like me and just like having plenty of spare parts, Turn around on radio repairs is short and you can still drive your car while the console is out. Don't forget to temp install the arm rest console with the fuel door switch or bring a paperclip to jumper the connector. Ask me how I know. I can tell you which pins they are but not home now. There are 4 wires but only two are used for the fuel door (weird).
Also, if it is the radio you can consider getting a CD unit if you don't have one. I upgraded my car to a CD unit and installed an iPod adapter at the same time. The radio connectors are funky since the releases are not the same. One or two are opposite from the others (top of connector versus bottom). DON'T pull on the wires, just the connectors!
