I pulled the air box assembly off of my vette to remove the maf screen. Now that I got everything back together. The straps to keep the airfilter in are too long! I've tried everything I cant seem to make them fit???? anyone ever had this problem???PLEASE HELP.. Can't drive my baby :( :cry :(
Let me know if you have any surging problems since you took out your MAF screen. I'm getting ready to do that today and have heard about some surging problems.
Just took out my screen and the car has been surging a little at idle, but it usually settles down. I think the pcm is re-learning w/the screen gone. Might have to do with changing the air intake system again now that I went to the Vette Doctor's Pro Flow+. I think its getting better as the car gets used to it.
I just replaced my intake with a Halltech about 2 weeks ago, and at the same time I 'punched' the MAF screen out (no residue in there to get sucked in). Let the car get up to temp, turn it off and turn it on and let it idle for 5 minutes then shut it back down again. Restart and off you go (this is supposedly the idle relearn process...in the halltech directions). The idle will get smoother. You may also experience the 'chech engine' light on the dash for the first several miles and starts as the computer is relearning the new airflow. As long as the 'engine' is not flashing someone on here said it was not a problem. After about 10 re-starts and clearing the DIC, my light went out and all the codes we able to be erased and have not come back since. Hope it helps, doug :flag
