Went to parking lot coming home from work, turned key, solenoid click, engine wouldn't turn over, clock at 1:00. Came back a couple hours later with jumper cables, hooked them up - Nothing - absolutely nothing - with the jumpers connected. No lights, accessories, nothing. Negative jumper to battery negative, positive jumper to the B+ terminal as the positive battery terminal is not readily accessible. I have been able in the past to use jumpers on these same two connect points and start right up.
You can try to pull your battery and try and charge it. I think it is bad so even if it takes a charge it will lose it very quickly. Not all that uncommon for new batteries. Or, take it to an auto store and do a load test. Needs to be fully charged prior to the test.
Five month old battery had a shorted cell. Swapped out for a new battery, no cost other than time to swap the battery.

Vetts are hard on batteries. Have had good luck with Sams 78s except for one which lasted about 9 months.
Used to fix computers in a former life. Old and running beats new and dead.
When first installed an electromechanical or electronic part is most prone to failure owing to mechanical shock in shipping and just poor manufacturing. Glad your new defective battery was replaced.
