Whistling sound?

Whistling sound?
I own a 98 corvette and have just noticed that when i start up the vette and drive it there is a small sound coming from my left rear side. I think it is coming from around my left rear wheel. It sounds like a small electric motor or whistling. Also when i put on my brakes the noise changes pitch alittle. I am almost positive that it is not coming from my tire itself. I was thinking maybe something with the hydrolicks :confused: . Any feedback would be great. And while im at it i hear a small very short chirp sound when my car shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear(I have an automatic) any thought would be great. Thank you

If it's coming from behind your left shoulder it's probably the fuel pump. It's in the gas tank on that side. The early 97's were very noisy. I don't know about the 98's. Did this noise just start ?

No it did not just start but i think it has become alittle louder.(im really not sure though, it could be that im just thinking about it now)
