Smartphone Remote Start
I am looking for any help you guys can give me on adding a remote start to my 02 Convertible. Here is the trick. I want it to only work from my smartphone and not be tied into my factory key fob. I use the Window Valet and that is worked with the fob and do not want to give it up. Has anyone done this and what unit did you use to make it happen? Thanks in advance for any help.

Easy to do.
You'll need a remote starter with a security bypass and a SmartStart. Any good installer can accomplish exactly what you want for $500-1000. If you use a very basic 1-way remote starter it will keep the cost down.
Search the DirectedElectronics website and you;ll find lots of options.
I would do the install for you but I'm betting you don't want to drive to Canada.....

C5 smart start troubles...
Hey guys, new corvette owner (i’m 18 and an amateur at car electronics) I recently had my mechanic install a smart start alarm system by python. It hooked up good and the alarm system and keyless entry works just fine but the start smart system does not work and my mechanic has no clue what’s wrong. Can you guys help me out a little? When I press the start button on the remote the vette seems to want to start but just doesn’t, it does the little dance and everything but won’t start up. Let me know...
